World Sufi Mission

Mission Statement: To revive Tasawuf in its pure form as prescribed by the holy Qur’an and Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). To create awareness about the great scholars of Tasawuf (Sufis) and help people to benefit from their work. To bring Mureedeen and the followers of various Sufi orders on a common platform where they can share their spiritual experiences and celebrate the spiritual strength.

World Sufi Mission unites Mureedeen and the followers of Qadriyah, Sohrawardiyah, Naqshbandiyah, Chishtiyah and other Sufi orders (Salasil) for the love of Allah, His Prophet (peace be upon him) and His creation. Scholars and Masha-ikh from all Sufi orders are invited in our gatherings.

World Sufi Mission was founded in 1995 and was re-launched in 2006. We provide answers to the questions and guide Muslims and non-Muslims in the issues of spirituality and meditation. Weekly Mehfil-e-Zikr at the Al Madinah Calgary Islamic Centre is our regular event. Prof. Syed Badiuddin Soharwardy provides the answers to the questions and leads the ZIKR program. Prof. Soharwardy is the Khalifah and Mureed of his father and Murshad Hazrat Allama Syed Muhammad Riazuddin Soharwardy (May Allah shower His blessings upon him). As Hazrat Allama Syed Muhammad Riazuddin Soharwardy (May Allah shower His blessings upon him) had the Khilafah in all four Sufi orders, Prof. Soharwardy was given IJAZAH from his Murshad in all four Sufi orders, Suhrawardy (also written as Soharwardy), Qadri, Chishty and Naqshbandi.

World Sufi Mission, its members and Masha-ikh very strongly believe that the Sufis and their followers must obey and follow the Shari’a of Islam in all aspects of life. There is no TARIQAT without following the Shari’a of Hazrat Muhammad Mustufa (Peace be upon him). Therefore, five mandatory daily prayers, fasting in the month of Ramadan, Zakat, Hajj and other requirements of Islam must be followed first.
